Asher's Birthday Cake and the Pukes.

Probably because of Chris' new edition, Asher is in love with Motorcycles or "motorwycle". So of course he had to have a motorcycle party. First we made the kids into bikers with spray painted shirts, "I love Mom" tattoos and bandanas. Then we did a bike obstacle course and a tire roll relay race. Then some biker food, namely pizza and wings. Then it was time for the cake, which you can see pictured here. We sang happy birthday and then he blew out the candles and threw up all all over the ground. That's one way to clear a party. They were out of there like a bullet in a shotgun. Poor kid, probably not going to be his best birthday ever. Happy Birthday son we sure love you.

Cement Lifting Class

My Dad invented a pump that raises cement about fifteen years ago. Well we have had this sunken cement next to us since we moved in and it's always bugged me. I think mostly because I know my Dad can fix it. But they live in Layton and I didn't want him to have to bring all his equipment down just to do one little piece of cement. So I have never asked. But my Dad was telling Datan all about his pump, and Datan was just loving it, his curious little mind in high gear. Then he told my Dad that we had this sunken cement. Well the two of them made a plan to have Grandpa come down and fix it. What a fun surprise to get to see my parents and have my cement fixed. Good job Datan.

I don't know who loved the project more. Datan learning about it or my Dad teaching about it. They are a good combination.

Of course the others had to get in on the action. Thanks again Dad we love our level cement.

Kite Festival.

Every year since we moved to St. George we've gone to the Kite Festival. They encourage kids to read everyday for 3 mons. and then you get to choose a kite at the Festival for free. But anyone can go and bring their own kite and spend lots of money on greasy food and cheesy kids rides. So we have done just that for the past four years. But this was Datan's first year to actually be in school and earn his kite. He worked so hard and read so much. I was so proud of him. He really did earn it. This is him with his new kite.

What kid doesn't like cotton candy? Asher it is pure indulgent straight sugar. I love that he's thinking about it, but NO.

Here is Asher with his "kite"...aka a streamer he found on the ground. He was so happy to just run around like this for hours.
