Datan's Utes Game.

Part of the reason I love getting season tickets for my husband is because he always makes it a priority to take the kids to their own game. They get to drive up with Dad then they spend the day at the Children's Museum in SLC and then they go to the game with Dad. It's really good for them and for Chris.

I hate this picture because he looks so big in it. Doesn't he look like he could be a teenager sitting there, with too many worries and not enough time? I started crying the first time I saw it. He used to be my little boy.

Super (Mario) Birthday Party.

Datan wanted a Super Mario Bros. Birthday Party. We weren't sure we were going to do a party at all so a week before we made invites, and barely got them out. (Imust have a new baby or something. :) So I threw it together in a couple of days and Chris says it was my best party ever. Maybe I should always procrastinate.

Here's what we did for the party if anyone else's kid is into Mario. We split all the kids into two teams. Team Mario and Team Luigi. They got hats and mustashes accordingly. We did Mario Kart Races on tricycles, Hot Bomb-Ombs (basically Hot Potatoe with a ball painted to look like a bomb-omb), Save Yoshi's Egg (painted two eggs with green spots and had the kids play the egg on the spoon relay game), Fireball Throw (I hung flat circle like a big coin with a picture of bowser on one side and a goomba on the other then they got to throw a "fireball" which was an orange one of those balls with the wiggly fingers all over it, at the bad guys to get points for their team), but the best idea that I came up with on my own if I might brag for a second, was the Jump for Coins game ( we hung gold chocolate coins from strings on a rope above our trampoline and the kids took turns jumping to get coins. The kids loved it all and we had a really fun time.

Happy Birthday my getting too big boy. We love you.

P.S. Three pictures to note:
He wanted a birthday pie, not a cake (but I did make one up and extra life cupcakes for the kids that do like cake.
I love the Mario Kart picture in the corner if you click on the picture you can see how excited one of the little boys was.
And of course our new family tradition of breakfast in bed.

Pop Pop Steve and Grandma Marsha with Zeke.

My parents came down to meet baby Zeke and help out. My Dad is a total do-er and can't sit still. So while my Mom held the baby my Dad worked in our basement. It was awesome to have them.

Ezekiel Jacob Reid. Sept. 27, 2010 (Zeke)

Our beautiful baby boy was born on Sept. 27th at 1:15 pm. We are all so excited to have him as part as our family. He was 7 lbs. 11 oz. and 20 in. long.

Whiting Reunion.

Datan at the family talent show. Telling Knock, Knock Jokes. :) He did awsome.

My kids favorite thing was washing the clothes on the old washboards. Wish they liked laundry at home. We had a great time. I have the best family of all time.

There is a video of me when I am 4 years old running through these same trees with two braids in my hair. It was like I was watching myself from 27 years ago. It was so cool.

Cooper's Run.

This is my amazing cousin Jana and her family. They lost their beautiful son a year ago. On the anniversary of his death they chose to organize a 5K run. What a great way to celebrate the life of Cooper. They thanked all the service people who helped on the day of his death and raised money for a scholarship to Cooper's preschool.
There were two fire engines, paramedics, a seat belt crash test ride for the kids, face painting, fully catered breakfast burritos and fruit, muffins etc., doves flying at the starting line, Target sponsored gift bags for the kids, Oh and did I mention the Medivac Helicopter landing for all the kids to see. It was amazing and inspiring. May we all handle our adversery with such grace.
We love you Jana, Cooper, and family.

Happy Anniversary. Ten Amazing Years.

For our ten year Anniversary we wanted to go somewhere great. We decided to go to the Canadian Rockies and see G-d's Beauty.

It was incredible. We went for 5 days without the kids!!!! I kept saying life isn't supposed to be this easy. The scenery was beyond and the company was perfect.

I am so lucky to walk this earth with my best friend. He is my perfect match, we never fight and really are a great team. Thanks for the most amazing ten years and here's to infinity and beyond. I love you Chris.

We also took in a music festival of a band we both love called The Trews. They are a Canadian band. The festival was total hippie fest and had no age limit the old people were dancin' right along with the young. Oh and note to Canada: sometimes covering up the fat makes you look more attractive then letting it all giggle free.

Camping.

To beat the heat we went camping up Cedar Mountain. We got the very last site which was so lucky. It was so fun and the river ran right past our campsite. The water was freezing. Why are kids immune to the cold. They played in the water for hours. It was so fun.
