Our Basement is Finished!!!

We built our house when Datan was 1 1/2 yrs old and put in an unfinished basement. Thinking that it would take forever to need the extra space and that we had all the time we needed to get it done. Three kids later we now know, time flies. I can't believe how fast it seemed that we needed it finished. We've already lived a lot of life in this house making a lot of memories and I still think of it as our new house.

Well back to the basement. Chris loves to learn and be hands on. So he wanted to do all the work on it him self. He did so much and learned so much along the way. I must admit it was hard for me to be patient since he could only work on it on weekends and holidays, but in the end he did an amazing job and really put his whole heart into each step of the process. With each step he did research, asked around and figured it out carefully.

Here are the things he did. Hopefully I remember them all. The framing, the electrical(with the help of Rivkah's husband. Thanks Mike.), the insulation, the painting, the casing and floorboards, the tile and bathroom fixtures. The only things he didn't do were the drywall and the HVAC. I'm sure he'll say I missed somethings but I just want him to know how proud of him I am and how much I love our extra space.

And yes Moriella is doing carpet angels. Yes we were that excited about it being finished

Dr. Suess Party 3/11

Green Eggs and Ham, red and white stripped smoothies and squigglie pancakes made up our food for the party.

Everyone had fun doing crazy hair and wacky clothing. Then everyone did a reading from their favorite Dr. Suess book.

All-in-all it was a wacky good time.

The Animal Museum

Living in St George there aren't a lot of things to take your kids to. So when a game hunter in the area made a museum of all the dead carcasses in his wake, we've ended up there quite a few times. All joking aside it's got some really cool animals in it from all over the world.

Hunter, Datan's cousin, loves animals and so we've spent lots of days at the animal museum together with them. As we've gotten busier and the kids have gotten older we haven't gone in a while. This was such a fun day. All the kids had so much fun being back at a place they loved and being together.

My SIL and I really think these kids were meant to grow up together, lean on each other and be best friends. God has a plan for them. I love that they all love their counter part.

Asher the Guitarist

I love finding my kids doing these kinds of things. Asher was totally expressing himself through music this day. What a Rock Star.
